My Purpose in Life
God wants us to seek Him. And He promised, "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened to you" (Matthew 7:7). The truth is, our hearts are restless until we find the God. And when we do, we'll also discover the answer to those questions we all ask.
Modern authors like the late Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen and Pastor Rick Warren have written books like Your Life Is Worth Living and The Purpose Driven Life, respectively, which help point us toward seeking God’s will for our lives. Until we embrace God’s will for our lives (i.e., in marriage, career, family, vocation, etc.) we will never be truly happy or at peace with ourselves or with others.
Years ago, the Baltimore Catechism of the Catholic Church addressed this longing, by reminding us that we have been created to know, love, and serve God with all our heart, mind, strength,in this life so that we may be happy with Him forever in the life to come.
