International TV News Agency, Rome Reports, Announces the Launch of EncouragePriests.org

Rome Reports TV News Agency announces the launch of  EncouragePriests.org:

EncouragePriests.org: A new website to show support to priests
Date: 2010-06-18 19:00:00

18 June, 2010. On this Father’s Day, June 20th, a new interactive website to show appreciation to priests will be launched.

Encouragepriests.org was established on Holy Thursday during the Year for Priests. It has been done by the same team of Catholics Come Home.
The new site aims to promote priestly vocation and to support and encourage priests through words, acts and prayers.
This website will help Catholics send messages, blogs, printable greeting cards, e-cards and “spiritual bouquets” to priests around the world.
Tom Peterson
Founder, EncouragePriests.org

“We need to pray for them, show them how much they are appreciated. Without priests we have no sacraments, no reconciliation, no Eucharist, no Mass. So it’s critical for us as laity to show love and support for our priests.”
With these gifts of gratitude and kind words, Catholics can express their appreciation to priests with the click of a button.
The site’s founder says this movement to support priests is crucial because they lead sacrificial and humble lives. He says a simple prayer and word of appreciation can uplift them.

The Diocese of Phoenix Newspaper, The Catholic Sun, Reports the Launch of EncouragePriests.org

The Catholic Sun, newspaper of the Diocese of Phoenix, reports on the Father’s Day launch of EncouragePriests.org:

EncouragePriests.org: Send a local priest a ‘Collar-Holler’ this Father’s Day

The Year for Priests ends June 19, but a new website will help keep its spirit alive indefinitely.

EncouragePriests.org, which launched on Holy Thursday — the day that marks the institution of the priesthood — will become fully interactive June 20, Father’s Day.

The EncouragePriests.org site is designed to equip the laity with easy yet powerful ways to affirm the priests in their lives through spiritual bouquets, printable and electronic greeting cards — dubbed “Collar-Hollers” — and testimonials.

Visitors to the website will also be able to learn more about the priesthood, support vocations and explore features including homily highlights, “Words of Wisdom” and “Fatherly Advice.”

“It all happened very, very quickly,” founder Tom Peterson said of the new outreach ministry.

It started when Peterson, who is also the brains behind its partner Catholic media apostolate, CatholicsComeHome.org, simply told his spiritual director earlier this year about his own heavy workloads, loneliness and the demands of ministry. His spiritual director mentioned that priests face the same struggles…

Catholic Priests Supported by Emerging Grassroots Effort (For Immediate Release)

CATHOLICS ANNOUNCE ENCOURAGEPRIESTS.ORG
GRASSROOTS EFFORT EMERGES TO SUPPORT PRIESTS

ATLANTA, Ga. (April 1, 2010)—A lay Catholic organization announces the formation of a new movement to support Catholic priests called EncouragePriests.org™ . This announcement comes on Holy Thursday, the day Christians celebrate the anniversary of Christ instituting the priesthood and the Eucharist.

EncouragePriests.org

Throughout the centuries, over a billion people around the world have witnessed the service and dedication of Catholic priests.  Some recall the heroic and sacrificial example of military chaplains, priests who serve in nursing homes and hospitals, fathers who feed the poor, pastors who serve as peacemakers during marriage counseling, or priests who have celebrated a family wedding or funeral Mass.

Yet today, the secular media is laser-focused on only a handful of wayward priests who have betrayed Jesus and the teachings of His Church, and are violating a sacred oath and trust. But millions of faithful priests and bishops serve as heroic shepherds of their flocks, leading rewarding and spirit-filled lives of service to others.

According to Tom Peterson, founder of EncouragePriests.org™ , “Countless priests deserve our true gratitude and love, as so many lead sacrificial and humble lives. These noble men of God need our encouragement and could be uplifted by a simple prayer and a gentle word of appreciation from us.”

CatholicsComeHome.org EncouragePriests.org™ was established in Lent 2010 by the non-profit Catholic media apostolate, Catholics Come Home, Inc.® (www.CatholicsComeHome.org). Peterson, president and founder of CatholicsComeHome.org adds, “It’s timely to launch this movement during the ‘Year for Priests’ as declared by Pope Benedict XVI (June 2009-June 2010), and to continue supporting the priesthood for many years to come! Our mission is to encourage priests, and promote priestly vocations through our love and prayers.”

On Father’s Day (June 20, 2010), EncouragePriests.org™ will launch an interactive website currently in development (www.EncouragePriests.org) that will assist Catholics in offering “spiritual bouquets” (gifts of prayer),  e-cards, printable greeting cards, video messages and blogs with kind words of gratitude to show appreciation for countless priests around the world.

Similar to the highly creative CatholicsComeHome television ads that have aired coast to coast helping over 100,000 inactive Catholics back to the faith,  EncouragePriests.org™ plans to air TV commercials that support the humanitarian efforts of priests and encourage more priestly vocations.
